MY Ace of the Face: Skin Care

This is my pretty little version of Allure's Best of Beauty List. (I've been inspired! oooooh!) So first, here we go is SKIN CARE.

I'm working on putting all this on a nice video/slideshow and maybe even put it on youtube(:

My most amazing friend, Lauren, has oily skin, and deals with tons of acne. I told her about this 'project' and she was more than happy to help. So we made a "deal", she makes the reviews and tells you guys about the products that deal with OILY skin, and I make the reviews with DRY and NORMAL skin. So there ya go!(: And Thank thank thank you you you Lauren!

Cleanser
NORMAL SKIN

Olay Foaming Face Wash--Normal Skin

Cleanses deeply to remove dirt, oil and make-up while oil-free conditioners help skin retain its natural moisture.

This was a really nice cleanser that I tried in the past. It's really gentle, and it doesn't leave skin all dry. Yet, it doesn't have any oil conditioners so no oils are going to mess with your skin.

Cleanser
Oily Skin

Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser

Neutrogena's products are mostly designed for oily skin people. This cleanser cleanses deep, getting any dirt and makeup out. The main thing I love about it, is that it doesn't leave any pore clogging residue.

Cleanser
Dry Skin

Dove Gentle Exfoliating Foaming Facial Cleanser

Dove has been my holy grail for years. I have super dry and sensitive skin. What makes Dove a good choice for dry skin, is that they include moisturizing LOTION in their cleansers. This makes it much more hydrating and makes it much more effective against dry skin.

Cleanser
Sensitive Skin (no matter if you have oily or dry)

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser For All Skin types

This is still the classic gold for any type of skin type. It removes makeup well, and it's probably the most gentle yet effective formula I've ever seen.

Cleansing Wipes

Ponds Evening Soothe

This is also the one that Allure has chosen. And they are truly great wipes. They smell AMAZING, and they take away a good amount of makeup with a swipe. You can put these anywhere, by your bedside, your purse, your gym bag...anywhere. Whenever you feel like refreshing your skin without all the work...pop one of these out and ta da!

P.S. If you have oily skin, or you come home from a hard workout, then try Neutrogena Deep Clean SPORT wipes

Facial Moisturizer
Normal Skin

Olay Complete SPF 30 Defense Daily UV Moisturizer -- Sensitive Skin

Moisturize sensitive skin and help protect it with SPF 30

This moisturizer does mention that it is for sensitive skin. NOT! Any skin type can use this. It doesn't irrate skin, and it provides the SPF 30 that you want. It has important vitamins that refresh skin; Vitamin E (which adds radiance) B3 and Pro vitamin B5. And it's really lightweight

Facial Moisturizer
Oily Skin

Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture SPF 35

Mmm..I can't tell you how amazing this moisturizer is. It has SPF 35, which takes care of the SPF. It's oil free, so no more oils clog your pores. Simple, classic...but very effective.
If you have combination oily skin, then try Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture-- combination skin

Facial Moisturizer
Dry Skin

Cetaphil DailyAdvance ultra hydrating lotion

Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion

Got dry skin? Cetaphil can fix that. Cetaphil is great for dry and (sensitive) skin. This moisturizer is freaking amazing, moisturizes intensively and it seems to hydrate FOREVER.

Got even more dry skin? Try Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair (my personal favorite)

Scrub

Queen Helene oatmeal 'n honey natural facial scrub

Queen Helene Oatmeal 'n Honey Natural Facial Scrub

This one isn't too popular, but it's got it's bang for it's buck. It leaves skin amazingly soft, and it leaves skin fresh and clean. The nice honey puts amazing moisture in your skin and the oatmeal calms and soothes your skin.
P.S. Another great one is by Burt Bees Citrus Facial Scrub

Peel

Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion & Peel System

I got really impressed with this product. It's a two in one, so you get both jobs done. It's a bit expensive for drug store wise, but it's really worth it. Just follow the directions, and you got glowing skin!

Facial Mask
Oily Skin

I'm going to be completely honest with you guys. Facial Masks out there are meant for every skin type. So I haven't used any specific ones out there, but I do have a pretty good homemade facial.

Strawberry and yogurt facial mask- just mush 4-5 strawberries, mix with yogurt and apply for about 15-20 minutes

Try bananas and a bit of honey. And try out an aspirin mask!

Facial Mask
Dry Skin

Another homemade mask:

Olive oil, honey and sugar scrub!(:

Try yogurt and honey also

Facial Mask:
EVERYONE!!

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

This is my most favoriteeeeeee mask in the whole wide world! It leaves my skin so tingly and minty, and it dries up any zits and pimples(: I loveeee it!! And it's sooo budget friendly

Zit Zapper

ELF Zit zapper

Just dab some at night, and by next morning, they are reduced oh so much. And it's only a buck!

And a DIY NATURAL zit zapper:

Just take some yeast and some lemon juice. Mix them together, and take a cotton swab. Then apply it on your zit/blemish. and ta da!

Hopefully that is all of your skin care things! And if you have any more suggestions, please email them to tsorain@gmail.com so I can add them!

(:
