FIX FOUNDATION THAT'S TOO LIGHT

In order to get a flawless look, one of the key steps (atleast I think it is) is to make sure your neck, chest...etc. matches with your face. Now, this could be a problem if your foundation is too ASHY, LIGHT, looks too PINKISH, OR WHITE. (ah! like a ghost!)

This trick might probably work better of people with YELLOW UNDERTONES. If you don't know if you have pink or yellow undertones, then click right below:
http://tsorain.blogspot.com/2012/05/warm-or-cool-undertones.html

NO OFFENCE to Emily Blunt (she's still really gorgeous!) but if YOUR foundation looks this and your sick of it....here is a trick that will bring the yellowness..or golden 'glow' back to it.

***This has no 'proven' for sure guarantee that this method is gonna work. This method is kind of complicated. So try at your own risk.

So here's my personal story (you can skip to the quick fix if you'd like)

I am HORRIBLE at picking my foundation shade. In one lighting, I'm one color. Another lighting, I'm another shade. It's tough love. My skin has a olivish - tan shade to it...and it most definetly has yellow undertones. I picked a foundation, which in the bottle looked fine. I bought it home, and tried it in my normal mirror. and it looked fine. And then I was walking somewhere (outside) and I saw my reflection at a car's window....and my face looked like A GHOST. Like my face was SOOO MUCH. LIGHTER. than my body. It was like my whole world collapsed.

THAT'S what I look liked when I spoke to that hot guy at the store? My god.

So I searched the internet for some help, and a lot of people just suggested putting a much of bronzer on...etc. I did that...but I ended up looking way too dark. but the SHADE or the coolness of the foundation (that was too light) could still be seen. My whole face seemed cool (with the pink undertones from the foundation) but my body was warm...(with the yellow). And honestly, I tried EVERYTHING but I could never get the "YELLOWNESS" or the "nice tan subtle glow" to my face.

And so this one day (COMPLETELY TRUE STORY) , me and my mom were at the fresh market ( i think) , and I was wandering...in the spices aisle. I was looking through the names and stuff....spices sounding so 'exotic'. And then I looked at TURMERIC. Yeah buddy. You read right. I was just about to look right past it, when the yellow caught my attention. And I connected that to my TROUBLE that's been haunting me for the last few days. I needed something to WARM UP my foundation, bring a nice GOLDEN GLOW to it. And I knew my mom had turmeric at our house too...cause she LOVES. and I mean LOVES spices and exotic food and stuff.

Once I got home, I searched, and guess what came up on google? :
http://www.bellasugar.com.au/Thandie-Newton-Adds-Turmeric-Her-Foundation-21448287

(I was really happy that other people have actually tried this...and it has worked :) )

And what did I do next? Keep reading ;)

WHAT YOU NEED:

-TURMERIC

-YOUR FOUNDATION that's maybe too light

-Maybe some bronzer and blush

WHAT YOU DO:

-The most important thing is to MAKE SURE you do your makeup in NATURAL LIGHTING. What might look 'flawless' in the bathroom, might look completely absurd outside. eg) me looking like a ghost haha :)

Gather all the makeup you need, get a mirror, and do your makeup in front of a window. If you look flawless in natural lighting...you look AMAZING in other 'colored' lighting...etc.

I know that not everyone does their makeup when the sun is out..etc. ( I do my makeup at 5 in the morning...when it's still pretty much dark outside). But either way, try using any WHITE LIGHTING. Lamps (most of them) have yellow lighting...which can really alter the shade that you really look. (trust me ..  I know haha).

-Now just mix a little turmeric in your foundation bottle. You can do this, but maybe for the very first time, try mixing a bit of turmeric with your foundation on top of your hand...so you can decide how much turmeric you really need and what shade you want. Be sure to actually test it on your bare face and blend it in...to make sure you know what shade it really looks like on your face.

-A little goes a LONG way. Turmeric does stain pretty good, so be sure to use little by littleWhen you mix it in the bottle or on your hand, you might think there's not really much of a difference (atleast I thought). but when you put it on, you can definetly see the yellow from the turmeric. In fact, if you use more than needed, it may look way too yellow...not such a good look.  So keep checking while you add a little more and more, to make sure you don't get too yellow. Be careful! Turmeric can also stain hands/nails real quick...so just be sure to thoroughly wash after your done mixing/applying. :)

-Other colors. Remember that nobody is just 'yellow'. You have brown, red, yellow, ivory...so much other colors to create your distinct tone. And with this trick, it's real easy to look like your sick. Just with all that yellow. So it's definetly a good idea to incorporate other colors to your skin. Try using some bronzer to bring a little brown back. And maybe even blush, to bring a little 'pink' or 'subtle red' back to your face.

So yeah(: I hope this helps!

You can probably get turmeric at any store that sells spices (it's pretty common at stores). -(even walmart's got it!)

btw, I've also heard about adding yellow food coloring to the foundation...but I'm really unsure about that. TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK. I feel turmeric is a better option, because it has more natural, ayurvedic properties :)

Good luck and take care (:

Warm or Cool Undertones?

Finding a good foundation, powder..., anything base makeup; can be much easier to find when you know your undertones.

Normally, there are two undertones that are classified in the makeup world:
warm- yellow
cool-pink

And if you know which one really is YOU, then it'll be easier finding foundation, powder...etc. , that TRULY match with your skin tone, and make you glow even more. So here are some easy 'tests' that can help determine which undertone you are.

VEIN TEST

Look at the veins in your wrist/hand..etc. If they are... :
-More blue:  COOL (pink)
-More green: WARM (yellow)

SUN EXPOSURE

What happens when you go out in the sun without sunscreen?

-Burn easily: (probably) COOL (pink)
-Tan easily: (probably) WARM (yellow)

GOLD OR SILVER

Try putting anything gold on you. Whether it be a liner, a bracelet, necklace...etc. Now put something silver to it. Which one looks better on you, and which ones give it a certain 'glow'?

-Gold : (probably) WARM (yellow)
-Silver: (probably) COOL (pink)

What does this mean?

Now that you know your undertone, it can help find the kind of colors and shades that will flatter you best.

If you are COOL (PINK)

Foundation- try to find a foundation with pink undertones. (in mac it's the NW collection)

Eyeshadow- cool, jewel tones would probably look best on you like; blues, violets, greens...etc.

Blush- a nice rosy, pink blush :)

If you are WARM (YELLOW)

Foundation: try finding a foundation with a rich yellow (olive/brown..etc) base. (in mac it's the NC collection)

(you have a yellow undertone, but does your foundation have a pinkish undertone...(maybe) making you look too white, pale, or ashy? no worries...it's fixable. Click here:

Eyeshadow: A lot of earth tones and metals. Like gold, burnt red, browns, copper...etc.

Blush: try staying to peachy (try coral if your tanner)...it'll look amazing :)

Here is also another really good chart I found on the web.

hope this helps, and take care :)

PERFECT, NATURAL FOUNDATION LOOK

Okay, I'll admit it. I am really jealous of that model above. Her skin looks so balanced and perfect...it looks so natural.

BUT just because you have discoloration, acne, acne scars, dark circles..etc. , doesn't mean that everybody has to know about them. So here are some tips to getting a NATURAL, FLAWLESS, foundation look.

1) THE RIGHT SHADE

To get the 'natural' look, you have to make sure your face matches your neck, chest...etc. So you gotta pick the right shade of foundation.

-Test the foundation at your jawline. This is the place where your neck and face 'meet', so it'll probably give you the most accurate tone of your foundation. Whichever foundation matches and almost dissapears next to your skin, is probably your match.

-Try investing in a high end foundation brand. If you pick the right one for you, it should do the job pretty well, and give you a beautiful finish as well.

-If you are at a drugstore, obviously its not so easy to test the foundations. Try going to a high end foundation store and try finding the right shade. (But don't rely on the store lighting! Try stepping out in natural light to make sure it's your skin tone) Then ask the clerk if you can have a sample of it to try home. And then you could always come back and try to match the color at the store.

(Whoopsss! Is your foundation too light? Here's how to fix that and get a natural look regardless: http://tsorain.blogspot.com/2012/05/if-your-foundation-is-too-light.html )

2) BRUSH VS. HANDS
So you've probably seen makeup artists just blend their foundation quickly with their palms, and some blending it with a brush.

You can pick literally any way you like.

Palm- if your just looking for a quick cover of foundation, this is the way to go. Also the heat from your hands, warm up the foundation, causing it to blend a little better. You can also reach places where the brush can't blend as well.

Brush- to give a more flawless finish. It makes the look a bit more matte and is probably a better way to get the 'natural' look, because the look looks more matte and softer.

You can also combine them. You can first just apply real quick with your hands, then buff it out and blend it a bit better with the brush! :)

3) POWDER

Usually a clean face is pretty much matte (except for oily skin people though). But dusting some quick powder makes the look a bit more natural and soft.

And it locks in the foundation...so it'll last a bit longer too.

4) COLOR

A clean, natural face doesn't look like a cartoon face. It has tones of color here and there, which make the face come more 'alive' and glowing.

-BRONZER POWDER

Try taking some bronzer powder and applying a bit at your cheekbones, your temples, and the jawline. The places where the sun naturally hits your face.

Don't go overboard with it though! (make sure that your face still kind of matches your neck, chest..etc.)

But here are some tips for bronzing powder:
http://tsorain.blogspot.com/2010/11/touch-of-gold-defining-cheekbones.html

-BLUSH

Blush can also make you look more awake and alive. But, same with the bronzer powder, a little goes a long way. Just apply a little bit of a hint of blush rather than a completely flushed look...you don't want to make it completly obvious that you're wearing blush.

Here are some tips to getting the right shade of blush for you AND how to apply it the right way:

So yeah. Hopefully this gets you to your perfect, flawless, natural looking foundation :)

Hope this helps, and take care

How to wash your face...the right way

Another how to, huh?

Anyways, this is probably the best method (that works for me) that I've learned to clean my face. This will actually make sure that you get all the makeup, dirt, and oils off your face after a long day.

I definetly wanna give a huge thanks to a skin care clerk at the mall. I was just looking at some products, when she came over and we got in a discussion...and she shared this way to clean your face. So thanks to her :)

Basically,  You're going to cleanse your face two times.

So first, take the normal amount of cleanser/scrub you normally take and cut it in half. Then just cleanse your skin normally. This first cleanse will take the makeup, oil...etc., just off the surface. Then just rinse.

Then again, take a bit of your cleanser and cleanse/exfoliate your skin again. THIS cleanse will actually get in your pores to actually get dirt and oil out of it...scrubbing away dead skin cells, and revealing beautiful, glowing skin. And then just rinse, and continue with your normal procedure.

This method will also improve the effectiveness of your cleanser :) More bang for your buck :)

And like I said, just try taking your normal amount of product, and use half of it for the first cleanse, and the other for the second cleanse. This will make sure you don't run out of cleanser too fast :)

hope this helps, and take care :)

Why do girls wear so much makeup?

That's what lot of people ask...especially guys who don't understand why that one girl at lunch or down the street looks like a oompa loompa everytime he sees her.

But that's not say that guys are the only ones saying this. You probably already know that there are many girls who always diss other girls by saying "wow, it seems like she put on a pound of makeup" or "b****, I can wipe 90% of your "beauty" with a wet tissue".

First off, if you are wearing a smokey eye with bright blush, with red lips. yes, that is way too much. And honestly, I would probably diss someone who wears that kind of look. It's cool for 'once in a while' thing, but if thats your everyday makeup routine...it probably would be better to tone it down just a bit. Like I said, I'm not a professional makeup artist...but thats not exactly "natural"...atleast in my book.

And also for the girls that are ivory or pale...and then apply a LOT of bronzer or tanning bronze on their face...please calm down with all that. If you do wanna look tanner, you can still use it, just make sure that your body color (neck, chest..etc.) match. Yeah, but no matter WHAT skin tone you are...just embrace it. It's who you are :)

Anyways, here is the basic reasons:

1) MAKEUP enhances natural beauty. well, if your wearing the right amount. Your beautiful cheekbones shine a little bit better. Your eyes look more awake. Your lips look more kissable.

2) IMPERFECTIONS. I know that nowadays, they say 'imperfections' are beautiful. and IT'S TRUE. IT IS. But we all know that the world doesn't work that way. I have a lot of acne scars, blemishes, and discoloration. One quick layer of foundation does the job pretty well. And truth be told, if I didn't wear that foundation, I would probably walk the school hallways with my head down. It gives me confidence, to keep my head up, and smile. It gives me confidence, I open up to people more, and it gives me more opportunities to smile.

The funny thing, is that all the girls that diss people with makeup, probably have perfect skin...or don't have acne everywhere. and that's the thing. they don't know what its like to have acne ALL OVER YOUR FACE. Or discoloration. or dark circles. So I'm just saying, if you have clear skin...or pretty much clear skin, and your dissin people that wear a lot of foundation/concealer...I'm just saying, you might not know what it feels like to have things all over your face.

But I do admit...sometimes I don't understand why people with already, 'no makeup' natural face have perfect skin...and they pile on like 3 layers of foundation. If you have pretty good skin already, don't use the foundation to cover it all up! Haha, your already so blessed with beautiful skin! Try using a little less to make you look more awake and glowing...but don't cover it all up (:

So yeah. I dunno...I just kinda felt like posting this one. just for some random reason i guess.

If your foundation is too light...

So you might have a moment when you THINK a foundation shade is your shade at the store; but once you bring it home and try it on...it ends up being TOO LIGHT....(even really light...to the point where it might make you look like a ghost !) haha nobody wants that for a natural look!

So here are some tips to get your natural skin tone...even if your foundation is too light:

1) The most common, is just to take some bronzer powder and just apply it over the foundation. This will help it darken it..and bring out your natural colors. There are many cheap bronzers that do the trick...like the NYC Sun 2 Sun Bronzer.

2) If your foundation is REALLYY lighter than your normal skin tone, try taking some gel bronzer and adding a few drops into your foundation to make it darker.

STILL NOT DOING THE TRICK?

TRY THIS METHOD: http://tsorain.blogspot.com/2012/05/fix-foundation-thats-too-light.html

So those are just the nice, easy, quick fixes. Hope this helps!

NO HEAT Curls

So we all know that you can obviously get curly hair with a curling iron...but there are other ways to get the same hair...without all that unnesscary heat and damage to your hair.

WHAT YOU NEED:

-rubber bands/elastics

-OPTIONAL: hairspray

**NOTE: this might work better on damp hair than completely dry hair. try doing it with hair that's just a little wet....but more dry than wet. because if you do this with wet hair...it will come out just as normal wet hair. :) so make sure it's just a little damp

here's how :)

1) part your hair into about 3-4 sections. horizontally. so meaning, grab one at the crown (like a thin HALF ponytail). then the other one can start at the level of the ear. and so forth..

2)take each part, and secure it in a tight twisted bun. meaning put your finger in, and twist the hair (circle it around) the finger. take your finger out, and secure the bun with the rubberband. so you probably have like 3-4 little buns(:

** remember, that the MORE buns and the TIGHTER you do them is going to give you tighter/smaller curls. the less and loose you do them, the more "wave like" hair you'll have.

3)(optional): and then just hairspray em real quick, so they stay well (: "

-I suggest going to sleep with this, and in the morning, just take em out...and ta da! (hopefully! ) and you can also hairspray them so they stay all day!

haha. ... oh and yeah...it is pretty uncomfortable to sleep with this. just make sure you don't sleep on your back. try your side(:

yuuup, so hope this works..and good luck! :D

How to look sexy in sweatpants

Dang. long time no see?

Anyways, sweatpants are one of the things that girls LOVE. Their soo comfortable..plain amazing. But lets face it, sweatpants aren't really "dress to impress" .. and we girls, don't really feel all that "sexy" in sweatpants either. (BTW, I'm NOT talking about the tight "yoga pants". I'm talking about the REAL, baggy sweatpants..like these) :

Buuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttt, we can STILL dress up sweatpants. And...it doesn't take that much effort :D
BTW: these are just some tips to make sweatpants look a little bit more fun, and girly for school..etc.  you don't have to try all that at home or if your running to the store real quick!

- Wear something tight on top. It's obvious, but it's good to just mention it. Since the sweatpants are baggy, you wanna balance it out with something tight.

- Maybe a little cleavage. First off, when I say "little". I mean little. I know it sounds like "Slutty" or whatever...and that's why I said little or completely optional. And again, don't be completely exposing the girls, leave something to the imagination!

-Pretty makeup. Like I said, since sweatpants are a little "manly" or "boyish", you want to balance it out with something feminine and girly. So try putting on pretty makeup(:

-Show a little skin. You can kinda show a bit of your tummy...etc.

-Jewelry: Earrings. Wear some earrings...maybe hoops (cause they go with everything )    :)

-Try doing your hair kinda pretty...maybe a cute braid, or straighten/curl it.

And I know it sounds like a lot of work for a lazy day; but all you gotta do is just put on a top and add some makeup or try a pretty hair design(:

Quick advice..I guess? For shoes, you gotta a lot of options. If it's hot, you can try flip flops. If it's cold, try tucking them in your boots. And if your looking for an "athletic" look, try wearing some tennis shoes.... orrrr for some swaggg, maybe some nikes?

Hope this helps(:
